Joni Eareckson Tada – A Testimony on the Glories of God in the Face of Suffering

I have known about Joni Eareckson Tada for a while, but in the last couple of days her testimony and witness to how great and powerful God is has been more relevant to me. In recent posts I have discussed how God’s goodness and sovereignty cannot be doubted simply because of the reality of pain, and over the last several weeks I have been preaching on the Book of Job – which… let’s face it… is all about the godly response to suffering. So, this topic has been especially on my heart and mind…

However, Ms. Tada’s story, experience, and reflection of God’s glory in the face of tragedy goes much much deeper than mine ever could… I encourage you to watch this message she delivered at Dallas Theological Seminary in February 2009 as an introduction to a class they offered on the Theology of Suffering. It’s humbling and inspiring.
